What is a lug sole boot?

Lug sole boots are boots that have a thick rubber sole with deep indentions that provide traction. And since, the chunky boot trend of 2020 will be around for at least another year, the lug sole boot, which is equal parts functional and stylish, is the one footwear option I’m wearing again and again from my closet. I’ve been drooling over this Prada pair since I saw it on @scoutthecity aka Sai De Silva. Yes, major $$$, but totally worth it if I could turn back time and made the purchase two years ago. This style is worth the investment. For now, I’ll stick to this more budget-friendly pair.

What boot style is better for trudging through winter snow?

Think about it. With snow, slush, and ice in the winter months, the lug sole boot has a better grip than your average boots. Thick soles will not only keep your feet warm, toasty and dry, but a lug sole boot’s hefty soles will also protect you from face planting into the unknown. Yes, these shoes are practical. BUT, there are a plethora of options to choose from when it comes to style and color. We no longer have to compromise looking good while we battle the winter elements! The chelsea boot is a favorite silhouette, while an over-the-knee boot or a colorful pair will also work with almost any outfit.
